Rugby programme

Our VUSA Afterschool Rugby Programme empowers young athletes with essential skills, confidence, and unforgettable life lessons. Children train three times a week, with Under 12s and 13s practicing on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and Under 9, 10, and 11 teams training on Tuesdays and Thursdays. During the season, they compete in the WP Schools League, and out of season, they play against local clubs.

Rugby teaches our children more than just athletic skills—it instills discipline, teamwork, resilience, and respect. Through the highs and lows of competition, they learn the importance of hard work, perseverance, and humility. Our coaches, all trained in Boksmart and Level 1 coaching, guide the children in developing these life skills, helping them carry the values of the game into their daily lives.

Children also experience diverse cultures and backgrounds, meeting peers from other schools and showcasing their talents. Competing against some of the best schools in the Western Province and succeeding shatters any self-doubt, showing them that with effort, they can achieve greatness both on and off the field.
